We are here to proclaim God's gift of forgiveness and mercy to our community and the world. We will defend God's Word from a culture of unbelief and false teaching. We stand in support of the mission of the Christian Church to proclaim God's Word and bring disciples to our Lord and Savior, teaching them to observe all that Jesus has commanded.
Striving to be Disciples
The road to discipleship begins when we are baptized. Cleansed of our past sins, we realize that we have turned our backs on God our creator, redeemer and shepherd. With our backs turned to Jesus, who is "the light of the world", we see the long shadow of sin stretching out ahead of us. It is only by turning to the light that we can put the shadow of sin behind us. This cannot be done by our own efforts but only through the help of the Holy Spirit. He has given us the the Church and His Holy Word to guide us. When we see the marks of the Church we can be confident that we are on the narrow path to discipleship.
